In the Spring of 2007, Maryland governor Martin O'Malley announced the Maryland Commission on Climate Change to craft a comprehensive plan for the state to take on, minimize, mitigate, plan for, and deal with climate change.

Amicus's own, Jason Holstine, has been named to the Commission.

Climate change is a big deal for Maryland, which has the third most coastline in the US. That's a lot of land that may be inundated by sea level rise, farmland threatened by saltwater intrusion, tourist attractions threatened by hyper storms, and everyone will have to deal with the weather variations (droughts, floods, blizzards, heatwaves, and storms).

It also presents abundant opportunities to heal the planet--and solve many of our energy and security issues at the same time. Jason is honored and excited to lend his experience, expertise, and opinion on the issues and solutions at hand.
